Getting Started
MMA stands for "mixed martial arts" - it's a comprehensive program that teaches practical self-defense skills while providing an incredible outlet for stress relief and personal growth. You'll learn techniques from different martial arts disciplines in a supportive, professional environment focused on building confidence and mental resilience. Training MMA will get you into the shape of your life! See the class descriptions below.
No! All of our classes are beginner friendly, plus we have beginner only classes as well.
Our program is for ages 16 and up. If under 18, parental consent is needed. Our friends next door do a great job with kids however!
Just wear shorts and a t-shirt - something you'd be comfortable moving around in. If you're coming to try MMA or BJJ specifically, avoid clothing with zippers and remove any jewelry for safety reasons. We train barefoot on clean mats in our air-conditioned facility.
Bring your own if you'd like!
For your first class, we recommend our Beginner BJJ class that meets twice a week (Mondays 5:30pm and Wednesdays 6pm). In that class, we start with the basics and have a lot of fun! If you're interested in MMA, those classes also welcome beginners in every session, so you'll never feel out of place.
That's completely normal and let's have a teachable moment here - everyone is nervous when they start, including the author of this FAQ who has 32 years of martial arts experience! That's exactly why we created our Beginner BJJ class - it's specifically designed for people who are new and maybe a little nervous. Everyone in that class started exactly where you are now, and our instructors are experts at making newcomers feel comfortable and welcome.

Safety & Experience
Not at all! What you see on TV is professional competition between elite athletes. Our classes are designed for everyday professionals who want to learn new skills, build confidence, and connect with like-minded people in a safe environment. We emphasize technique, personal development, community, and real-world self-defense skills over any kind of fighting.
Absolutely not! No one will hit or kick you unless that's specifically what you want to work on and you're completely comfortable with it. Even then, any contact is more like a game of tag with full safety gear in a completely controlled environment. All techniques are carefully controlled and
monitored by our instructors. We're a professional school where the comfort and safety of every member and staff person is our top priority. Most of our clientele are regular people - just like you! Plus, learning these skills gives you confidence and practical self-defense abilities for real-world situations.
All students progress at their own pace in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. We have members in their 60s and beyond training with us successfully! Our instructors are experts at meeting you exactly where you are and helping you build confidence gradually.
It's highly likely we can work around injuries or physical limitations. Our experienced instructors are skilled at providing modifications and alternative techniques to accommodate different needs. We'll work with you to ensure you can participate safely and comfortably.
Absolutely not! Our training is designed specifically with working professionals in mind. We focus on controlled techniques and safety. You'll build confidence, stress management skills, and mental sharpness that actually enhance your professional performance. Plus, you'll develop a network of interesting, motivated people outside your usual professional circles.
Membership & Pricing
If you join before September 15, 2025, you'll get our special founding member rate of just $99 per month. To put that in perspective, similar programs around town cost $179 per month or more - so this is an incredible opportunity to get premium training at an exceptional value. We also have other pricing programs available to fit different needs.
ALL of them are included for the same price! Your membership gives you access to every single class we offer - BJJ, MMA, Striking, Aerial Silks, Bootcamp, Fitness Kickboxing, and Women's Self-Defense classes.
Take as many classes as you want! You can come multiple times per day if you'd like. There are no limits on your training - your membership gives you unlimited access to all classes.
Come to as many classes as you want for one low price.
Not at all! We don't believe in locking people into long-term contracts. Our memberships are monthly, giving you flexibility for your busy professional schedule. We just ask for 60 days' written notice if you need to cancel.
We're a family business that stands behind our programs. If you give us a genuine try by taking a few classes and decide we're not the right fit for you within your first 30 days, we'll refund your money. We want you to feel completely confident in trying something new.
For BJJ, you just need yourself! For Kickboxing and MMA, you'll need some gear, which we can provide for you. We offer our gear near our cost and will make sure what you need is available when you're ready.
We're not trying to build our business on gear sales, so we offer a complete set of gear for just $135 - which is basically our wholesale cost. This gets you everything you need to train safely and comfortably. You're welcome to bring your own gear, just please make sure it meets our safety standards and we're happy to inspect it for you.
Classes & Programs
BJJ is similar to wrestling but focuses on ground fighting, technique, strategy, and problem-solving. Often called "physical chess," it emphasizes using leverage and technique over strength. Many professionals love BJJ because it's incredibly mentally engaging and teaches you to stay calm under pressure - skills that translate perfectly to high-stress careers. It's also a great way to completely disconnect from work stress.
Striking = practicing punches, kicks, knees, and elbows on pads in a safe, controlled way. Our striking classes teach you boxing, kickboxing, knee and elbow strikes using pads, heavy bags, and controlled partner drills in a safe and controlled environment. It's an amazing stress reliever - imagine the satisfaction of hitting pads after a challenging day at the office! You'll learn practical self-defense skills while building confidence and mental clarity. It's great practice for real-world self-defense situations.
Sparring = optional, light partner drills to apply skills in a supervised setting.
Aerial Silks is a beautiful and accessible art form that builds strength, flexibility, and confidence while providing an amazing mental escape from daily stress. Don't worry - it's much more approachable than it looks! Our classes are designed for complete beginners, and you'll progress step-by-step in a supportive environment. It's perfect for professionals looking for something completely different that challenges both body and mind.
Our Fitness Kickboxing classes teach you practical striking techniques while providing incredible stress relief with high energy music. You'll work with pads, heavy bags, and partners in controlled drills - imagine the satisfaction after a long day of meetings! It builds balance, precision, and confidence while giving you real-world self-defense skills.
Our bootcamp classes provide high-energy, varied workouts that build functional strength and endurance. Perfect for busy professionals who want maximum results in minimal time, these classes combine different training methods to keep you engaged and challenged. Our bootcamp program also includes a nutrition program to help you reach your goals faster.
Yes! We offer Women's Only Self-Defense classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30pm.

Yes! We have plenty of free parking and 3 showers available, making it convenient for busy professionals to train before work, during lunchtime, or after work.
No, we are not trying to compete with gyms, but CrossFit Buckhead is under common ownership with us, and they do an amazing job if you're only looking for strength training.
Yes, we have a complete set of functional fitness equipment! Several of our staff are CrossFit and Starting Strength certified trainers. We use this equipment in our classes and it's also available for members to use before and after class for functional fitness exercises to build strength and enhance your overall fitness. Once members have some experience with us, they can also be granted open gym access to use the strength and fitness equipment when available. It's a great way to complement your martial arts training.
Absolutely! Our coaches have a combined 150+ years of coaching experience. We can help you reach your specific goals through 1-on-1 or small group training sessions tailored to your individual needs and schedule.
We're soft-opened right now, with our official opening on August 12th. We'll have our grand opening celebration later in the year!
Absolutely! We're planning to add more Friday and Sunday classes, and we're always open to adding whatever times our members request. We want to accommodate busy professional schedules as much as possible
